Mary Lou Pickle, her songs, and website were created to keep children entertained and have proven to hold a child's interest. The messages that she conveys, however,  are of vital importance to young children.

Much hatred and aggression towards others stems from ignorance, and most people at some point in their life are a victim of other people’s ignorance toward them. Whether being teased at school for being overweight, being made fun of for a physical disability, or having a senseless crime aimed at a particular culture, race, or religion, people are constantly living their lives in fear because of the ignorance of others.

People who are constantly teased or bullied react in different ways. Too often these children are teased to the point that they become suicidal and take their own lives, or they direct their anger towards others. There is no excuse for killing another human being, but perhaps those young victims who were recently murdered in school shootings might still be alive if the gunman was not teased to the point of insanity.

While verbal or physical personal attacks on oneself are very difficult to deal with, it can be just as difficult to deal with the vandalism of personal property or land. It is imperative to respect the property of others, the animals, and the planet that we all share. That is an essential part of respecting the rights of others.

Mary Lou Pickle hopes to help children in their basic fundamental rights to live in peace and happiness.
